Andy is excited to be heading up the tax planning and advising group at MFG Tax Advisors. He began his career in financial services with Prudential Insurance in 1997. He transitioned into financial planning and tax preparation, then moved into operations, specializing in Trust, Estate, and High Net Worth accounts with American Century Investments. Andy moved back into tax preparation and managed a large group of retail tax locations in Minnesota and Wisconsin with an emphasis on hiring and training newer tax preparers before joining the fine folks here at MFG Financial Advisors.
His goal is to bridge the gap between tax preparation and tax planning/advising, to not only prepare his clients’ returns but to also work with them to plan efficient strategies for the future.
Andy holds a bachelor’s degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in Economics and Environmental Studies, with a minor in Music Performance. Andy also holds two master’s degrees from Concordia University Chicago in Sports Performance and Sports Nutrition. He has coached youth through professional athletes, worked as a strength and conditioning coach at the university and professional level, and teaches Kinesiology at the University of MN in an adjunct capacity.
He has two awesome boys who are becoming amazing young adults. Andy has long had an interest in Socially Responsible Investing and the ideas of aligning investments with values. He collects vintage BMW’s, races a few of them recreationally, and spends his free time tinkering at his garage with his kids.
